On Wednesday, October 25, 2023, Douala’s KĒVA Resto & Lounge was the stunning venue for an exclusive event. Cameroonian HNWIs attended an educational networking session, organized by EDC Asset Management, a subsidiary of Ecobank, and RIF Trust.
RIF Trust Strategic Partner Sam Akande thanked the 60+ guests for taking time out of their midweek schedules to say hello to freedom. He explained why we partnered with Ecobank and how we are open to partnering with other regional firms for similar events.
Noëlle Kouo Ngamby, EDC Asset Management MD for the Central African region, talked about Ecobank. She emphasized the importance of partnerships like this to grow awareness of their products across the HNWI demographic.
Sam proceeded to tell guests who RIF Trust are, where we are located (23 countries and counting), and our goal and mission for Africa. He gave an overview of the various Residency and Citizenship-by-Investment programmes. Sam concluded his presentation with a breakdown of our SMILE mantra (Security, Mobility, Insurance, Lifestyle, Education).
Zuberu Kadiri is our Nigeria Country Manager. He can draw on his own personal experience when advising African HNWIs about Citizenship and Residency by Investment. Zuberu wowed the crowds with his very own acronym, SPEED (Security, Privilege, Exemption, Endowment, and Dynasty Planning).
Following our presentations, the guests understandably had various queries. We heard them and responded to them. Here’s an edited summary:
Q: Cameroon does not accept dual citizenship, so how can I benefit from investment migration?
A: As a Cameroon national, you’re free to take up a new residency in Europe and elsewhere.
Q: How do you receive the money and how can you be trusted?
A: We have a global presence and have helped over 6,000 clients from 100 different nationalities. As an investment company, we can make payments for some programmes on behalf of clients, for example Caribbean programmes. However, other programmes require a direct transfer.
Q: Moving money can be very difficult in Cameroon. How do we plan to tackle this hurdle?
A: We have partnered with reputable brands like Ecobank. In addition, we have agreements with other partners who help with facilitating payments. To better understand each investor’s needs, however, we recommend a private discussion.
Noëlle Kouo Ngamby gave her presentation, extolling the benefits offered by Ecobank to Cameroonian entrepreneurs. We then made ourselves available to our guests more informally, by moving around them. Both Sam and Kuberu answered further questions about Residency and Citizenship by Investment.
If you did not make it to the event, we can help fill in the gaps in your investment migration knowledge. We offer expert advice and can find a Residency or Citizenship-by-Investment programme that’s tailored for you.
