About Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia, officially known as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is the largest country in the Middle East, located on the Arabian Peninsula. With a population of approximately 34 million people, it is known as the birthplace of Islam, housing the religion’s two most sacred mosques in Mecca and Medina.

The climate of Saudi Arabia is predominantly desert with extremely high day-time temperatures and a sharp temperature drop at night. Its coastal regions experience a slightly milder climate due to the influence of the Arabian Sea and the Persian Gulf.

Saudi Arabian culture is deeply rooted in Islamic traditions that shape the country’s way of life. Arabic is the official language and the Saudi Riyal is the national currency. The country is known for its hospitality and rich heritage, with traditional music, dance, and cuisine playing a significant part of their culture.

Economically, Saudi Arabia is one of the wealthiest countries in the Middle East. It has the world’s second-largest proven petroleum reserves and is the largest exporter of petroleum. The government is working on diversifying the economy through its Vision 2030 initiative, which aims to reduce the country’s dependence on oil, develop public service sectors, and promote tourism.

For travelers, the recently introduced tourist visa allows exploring a country rich in archaeological treasures, vibrant cities, and vast sand dunes. The country’s strict laws and customs, however, require careful consideration and respect.
