On Saturday, May 25, 2024, the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica made a speech about the new Cabrits Marina. At a presentation ceremony, Roosevelt Skerrit outlined the benefits it would bring to the island’s second largest town of Portsmouth. He explained how the Commonwealth of Dominica Citizenship by Investment will fund this.
The Prime Minister’s address pledges that the Cabrits Marina is a sustainable project. Yet, like the American Canadian School of Medicine and the Intercontinental Dominica Cabrits Resort & Spa, it would help energize Portsmouth. Dominica’s second town would become a livelier business and leisure centre.
“My dear friends, the development of a marina in this area marks a turning point for the town of Portsmouth. Portsmouth has always been a community brimming with potential. We will once again harness the extraordinary capacity of the Portsmouth people and bring unprecedented growth to this area.
– Roosevelt Skerrit
This address continues to mention the 15+ eating and drinking establishments, along with a craft market. It references the river vistas you can enjoy as you shop, wine, or dine. The marina is primed to satisfy the needs of an ever-developing yachting sector.
“This marina will cost in the region of about $75 million to be financed by the Citizenship by Investment Programme. It will accommodate a diverse array of vessels docked to slips of up to 50 feet, and berths for super yachts up to 150 feet.
– Roosevelt Skerrit
Chris Willis is our Man in the Caribbean. He acknowledges the increasing transparency of the Dominica Citizenship by Investment Programme. Investors can easily determine where their Economic Diversification Fund (EDF) option goes, if they choose this investment over the real estate alternative.
“When you invest in a Citizenship by Investment programme, you often focus on the benefits you receive. So, you look at the enhanced global mobility or the possibility of establishing a Caribbean Plan B. But it is heartwarming to see how your investment makes a genuine difference to a small island.
