About Seychelles

Seychelles is an archipelago of 115 islands located in the Indian Ocean, off the eastern coast of Africa. Home to a population of approximately 98,000, it is the smallest population of any African state. The official languages are Seychellois Creole, English, and French, reflecting the country’s rich cultural heritage.

The climate in Seychelles is tropical, with warm and humid conditions throughout the year. The islands experience two main seasons: the cooler season from May to October and the warmer season from November to April. This makes Seychelles a year-round destination for tourists seeking its pristine beaches and diverse marine life.

Seychelles’ economy is largely driven by tourism, which contributes to over 60% of its GDP. The country also relies on fishing, particularly tuna, and small-scale manufacturing. Despite its small size, Seychelles has a high-income economy and one of the highest Human Development Indexes in Africa.

The culture of Seychelles is a melting pot of influences from African, French, British, Indian, and Chinese immigrants. This multicultural influence is evident in its cuisine, music, and festivals. Seychelles is also known for its commitment to environmental conservation, with more than 40% of its land area designated as national parks and reserves.
